Examination Module
In the Pre-Primary Level three evaluations are held during the year. The performance of the students is shown in grades.
From Std. I onwards examination modules are followed as under:
i) Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes I to VIII have been prepared in view of the provisions of RTE-Act 2009 and comprises of two terms i.e. Term-1 and 2 as explained below:

Yearly ExamWritten exam for 80 marks with syllabus coverage as below :
Class VI : 10% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term. Class VII : 20% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term. Class VIII : 30% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term |
ii) Subject Enrichment Activities: These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities will be carried out throughout the term, however, they would be evaluated at the term-end.
iii) Co-Scholastic Activities: For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair).The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork be the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities: (a) Work Education – Work Education refers to skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community (b) Art Education (Visual & Performing Art) (c) Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC etc.)
iv) Discipline: The students will also be assessed for the discipline which will be based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)
v) Pupils who fail to appear in the Examinations will not get a second chance to write the Examination.
vi) A student found cheating in any way during an examination or if discovered subsequently will be disqualified in
vii) Students from Std. – VI to Std. – VIII failing in one or two subjects should clear the supplementary exam (in the failed subjects) to be promoted to the next class.

Health and Physical Education
The Importance of health and physical education including yoga, sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. Increase in self-esteem and mental alertness make sports and games necessary for every child. Keeping this in mind an array of co-curricular activities such as athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, hockey, cricket, baseball, skating, judo, karate, chess, yoga, aerobics are provided to the students. The large play grounds in school give students wide range of prospect to engage themselves in various activities as per their talents and interests. The students are trained and coached in various games and sports by our PETs as well as coaches and experts from different associations for respective games.
Extra-Curricular
Extracurricular activities are organised to make the childhood and learning experience colourful and enjoyable. To achieve this we at SVPS conduct different activities throughout the year. The sports department organizes various inter-house sporting events like football matches, yoga, tug of war, chess etc. The Art & Craft Department conducts drawing and craft competitions. The winning artwork of the students are then displayed in the annual Art & Craft Exhibition which held in the month of February. During the Art & Craft Exhibition the teachers provoke the students to display various scientific experiments and working models to enhance their scientific temper. Various club activities and competitions like quiz, debates, skits, etc… are also conducted for and by the students with the help of teachers so that the children can pour out their skills and talents in front of live audiences. Similarly Dance and music departments work towards the grow of the talents among students.
Apart from the above, Competitive examination like Talent search, Elementary scholarship, Spell Bee, Quiz, Elocution, Debates, Essay, Memory retention, table dodging, Science, Maths and cyber olympiads (SOF) are help. Coaching classes in abacus brain gym, mid brain, vedic maths etc are promoted. Picnics, field trips and study tours and organised to enhance general awareness.
All these activities put together helps the students to come out with their hidden skills and talents… helps them think out of the box…
Club Activities
chool provides interactive, participatory, innovative & creative learning experiences to students through various clubs like Literary Club, Eco Club, Scientific & ICT Club, Aesthetic Club and Health & Wellness Club. These clubs aim at providing a common platform to schools, teachers and students to give shape to their innovate ideas & learn from hands on experience.
